publicly change your mind

the willingness to publicly change your mind & say why is downstream of actually thinking. i admire elon for doing this regardless of the incentive structures or whatever. it’s rare enough that it reads as a personality trait.

most people treat their beliefs like tattoos & politicians treat them like uniforms. but neither is really thinking about the world in a meaningful way.
