the world doesn't move because you tell it to

most people think they can steer life by issuing instructions.

they talk like middle managers of the cosmos… “do this,” “don’t do that,” “here’s the right framework,” or “here’s the optimal behavior.”

the reality is quite different. because humans simply do not change because of prescriptions.

the human ego is the biggest compliance avoidance machine to ever exist.

the moment you try to direct someone or even yourself, the psyche boots into safe mode, firewall up, & ports closed.

e.g. when you see someone trying to “fix” their husband or wife by telling them what to do.. communicate more, be more present, listen better, you can already predict the outcome. nothing changes.

if anything, the behavior gets worse. the ego treats instruction as insult.

what actually alters people & the only real force that’s ever reshaped anyone is perception shift. not orders. def not logic lol. & no moralizing bs. only vision.

a story can reach parts of the mind where commands will never be allowed. it glides past the defenses, past the cynicism, straight to the deep firmware where meaning is stored. it doesn’t tell you what to do.

it changes what you see.

once you see differently, action becomes inevitable.

every relationship is proof.

think about the moment you fell in love, not the garbage dating app performativity, but the real thing.

nobody instructed you:

“care for this person.”

“rewrite your routines to include them.”

“let your guard down.”

lol. if someone tried to tell you that explicitly, you’d run.

what happened instead was enchantment.

you saw something that shifted the axis of your internal world, a look, a gesture, a sentence with unexpected gravity. suddenly the logic of your life re optimized around them.

because the story you held about them & about yourself changed shape.

same with heartbreak. nobody tells you when to detach. you just wake up, & the story is different. the “why” rearranges itself. your actions follow the new narrative like water flowing downhill.

or take friendships.

the ones that last don’t survive on negotiated expectations. they survive on shared myth.. inside jokes that become lore, recurring motifs, the unspoken emotional geometry that turns two people into a micro civilization.

lose the myth & the friendship collapses.

no argument can save it.

no instruction can reanimate it.

even culture works this way.

no one has ever moved anything with a god damn memo. instead civilizations are moved by myths.

jobs didn’t tell people to “be more creative.” he showed them a 1984 dystopia & said this is what happens when you don’t think different. myth. firmware rewrite.

taylor swift didn’t ask fans to build a global emotional support network. she told a story.. about girlhood, longing, power reclaimed & millions reorganized their identities around it. another myth.

zuck didn’t make instagram the cultural center by issuing best practice guides. he gave people a stage where the myth of self performance could metastasize into a way of seeing.

the people who actually move the world are not the ones preaching “action items.” they’re myth engineers.

they alter the perceptual surface everyone else stands on.

you can tell who’s operating at this layer because they never sound prescriptive. they don’t tell you what to do. they tilt the frame until you reach the conclusion yourself & think it was your idea.

in relationships, these are the people who don’t say:

“you should treat me better.”

they say something truer & more devastating:

“here’s what closeness feels like.”

if you can’t meet that, your own perception punishes you.

in leadership, they don’t say:

“work harder.”

they say:

“look at the world we could build.”

& people sprint.

in love, they don’t say:

“choose me.”

they simply reveal a version of the world where choosing them feels obvious.

prescriptions die on impact. vision survives everything.

this is the only real power anyone ever has.

it’s not instruction. rarely an argument. & obviously never force.

it’s enchantment.

the ability to mutate what someone sees.. by widening the aperture until the old worldview no longer fits.

once that happens, you don’t need to tell them anything. the mind reorganizes itself around the new picture.

the decision becomes inevitable.

the action becomes obvious.

the world moves.
