watching the world cup really makes you realize how insanely absurd america's sports infra really is.

there are hundreds of arenas, dozens & dozens of ridiculous football stadiums which are state of the art, entire small college towns built around 80k–100k person events, plus the highways, hotels, tailgate lots, concessions, & broadcast systems to make it feel all normal.

most countries have maybe few of these & would have to build like crazy to host world stuff like this. i mean even china had to build a lot & hide the slums during olympics etc whereas here any even can just show up & it's all ready to go.
